| Yarn Cravin’ Spring 2010 Newsletter The new class schedule is now ready. We are very excited about our class line up for spring. We would also like to welcome a new teacher, Laurie Dembicki, to our teaching staff. Laurie is famous for her beautiful felted purses and embellishments. Stop by to see samples for the classes we are offering. We are also starting a new Knit-a-long! The pattern we have chosen is the Soft Linen Sideways Lace Vest from Classic Elite designed by Julia Trice. It is a beautiful vest that can be worn year round. If you have never joined us for a knit-a- long before, let me tell you a little more about how it works. We will start Thursday April 29th. You need to come in to sign up and purchase supplies on or before April 29th. Then every Thursday during the Knit-a-long, Dale Ann and I will be available to answer questions and give help if needed. You are welcome to come and knit for as long as you can join us on those days. It is not mandatory that you come every week but we would love to see your progress and we know it’s more fun to knit with friends. We would like to have everyone come at 6:30 on the 29th to kick the project off! Extra Bonus: One lucky person will win a gift basket valued at $200 from Classic Elite Yarns. The details for the basket will be explained on the 29th. You must pre-register for the knit-a-long to qualify for the gift basket. Headhuggers update. They will now meet the 4th Wednesday each month at Yarn Cravin’ at 6:00. If you cannot make it to the meetings, please feel free to drop off hats at the shop and we will make sure Pat receives them. For anyone who would like to knit for charity, a new opportunity has been born. A new group, Christian’s Critters, has just started. This group is making knitted stuffed animals for children in need. The new Black Swamp Knitter’s Guild will meet Sunday April 25th at 2:00 at the First Presbyterian Church located across the street from YC. Please note that they will meet the 3rd Sunday each month with April being an exception. (4th Sunday) Knit in Public! June 19th, mark your calendars! Bring your lawn chair, some sunscreen, maybe lunch, a beverage (or you can order out) and don’t forget your knitting and join us for a day long knit fest! I’m sure we will have some fun surprises!!! Don’t forget our Contest!! There is plenty of time to participate. Stop by the shop for more information. |
